As photographers and proposal planners, we’ve learned a lot about making a proposal memorable. While some people opt for a grand, public display for their marriage proposal (like a stadium or billboard), proposing in an intimate, private space has a lot of advantages – especially for those of you who wish to bask in this life-changing moment with your one-and-only, just the two of you.

3 Reasons Why You Should Propose In A Private Environment

• It’s completely customized. When it comes to public proposals, there are usually quite a few restrictions or timing concerns. If you don’t want someone else determining the flow of your special day, a private marriage proposal will allow you to plan the details on your own terms (and any little delays won’t be quite as stressful!).

You can keep the secret as long as you want. There’s something special about having a secret between just the two of you. You can bask in your excitement for as long as you want, toasting and smiling and blissfully discussing your plans for the future. When you’re ready to share, you can tell the world (or at least your family!) and continue the celebration with your loved ones.

It’s personal. You can incorporate whatever the two of you love into the proposal. Whether you think an elaborate affair or a low-key expression of love will be best, the details of how you honor your relationship are all up to you – not anyone else!
