“The Mermaid Oyster Bar is a very special place to me. I lived in that neighborhood, and used to come to the Mermaid a lot – I love the food, the cocktails, and not least of all, the great staff. It is also the place where I first met my girlfriend Barbara, so it holds significant meaning for both of us. I thought long and hard about possible places to propose, and ended up deciding that I would like to bring things full circle and pop the question where it all began.”
