Empire State Building the 7th tallest building in New York. Its art deco design became known far and wide and this is the most recognizable skyscraper in the world. That is why it is no wonder that this building is the most desirable view for any engagement held in New York.
When you plan to propose on the Empire State Building here are the main things you need to know:
- Empire State Building is a public venue, so be prepared to deal with the crowd. You can not decorate or block the area as the space is very narrow.
- It might take some time to get to the top, so consider buying the express tickets.
- There is a metal detector there, so make sure you put the ring in the jacket and put it on the belt when you pass security.
- In order to avoid the crowds consider coming here either very early or before closing, which is 2 am.
- No commercial photography is allowed, meaning your photographer must be discrete and not using any tripods.
- When you get on the knee, there is not so much of the view as the fence is very high. So you propose next to the wall.
As you see, we will not recommend getting engaged at the Empire State Building, unless this place is important for you or you love the movie ‘Sleepless in Seattle’. It is iconic though, so if you feel that’s the right venue for you – do it.
It is so much better to get engaged in a place that will have a direct view of the famous skyscraper.
