One of our most favorite places in Central Park – Cop Cot.
Cot Cop can be found at 60th Street in the middle of the park, not far from Central Park South. The structure is located on the top of a small hill for which it was named. Cop Cot means “little house on the crest of the hill” in Scottish. Cop Cot is sheltered by trees and offers a shady, semiprivate spot for viewing Central Park.
Because of its isolation, this place is very popular with weddings and engagements. To make sure that you will have the spot for yourself, you can apply for the park permit, otherwise, it first comes first served.
We love this place, because of its size and space to play around. It looked amazing with the candles and string lights. Although, you are not allowed to place any decoration on the roof of the gazebo.
Best time to propose: after sunset, when the park is dark and you can see the skyline and the lights.
How to bring your girlfriend here: The best cover is a restaurant reservation. There are two restaurants in Central Park, so if you tell her that you have a reservation its a good excuse to bring her to the park. After that, you take ‘ the wrong path’ and brings her to the spot.
Best time of the year: Spring and Fall. The park is beautiful and the gazebo is all green and flourishing.
