Top 5 new secret marriage proposal locations in New York

New York is a fast city and it changes all the time, new parks are opening up every year and new buildings are popping here and there every six months. If you love the city vibe and are looking for an interesting spot to propose which hasn’t been photographed a thousand of times yet, here are our top new finds for a stunning marriage proposal.

1. TWA Hotel

This place has serious 60s vibes and looks absolutely amazing. Designed in 1962 as a part of the TWA Flight Center it was an operating terminal from 1962 to 2001 and became a hotel in 2019. If you are looking for a unique location for your engagement, this would be the place to go. There are a couple of great spots for a surprise proposal, but one of our most favourite is the real aeroplane that was turned into a lounge. Just imagine proposing by the real aircraft and then getting on board for a surprise engagement party. If that is not enough, visit the hotel’s outdoor rooftop pool which has direct views of the JFK runway.

2. Little Island

NYC’s newest park located at Pier 55 on Hudson River is a unique combination of nature and architecture. The island covers 2.4 acres and is supported by the 132 pot-shaped structures suspended above the water.  The island is open from 6 am till 1 am and has magnificent views of the Hudson River, Downtown Manhattan and the Midtown area. This place can be perfect for an urban picnic proposal or the surprise marriage proposal with the family. There is also a little outside theatre on the island, so you can easily hire a musician to play the song for you.

3.  Secret garden of Saint Luke’s

You probably never even heard of this place, but this secret garden is a real hidden gem of the west village. The garden is open from 9 am to 5 pm and open to the public, but you also can rent it out for a private event. The garden’s history goes back to 1842 and it is the most admired garden in NYC, with more than two-thirds of an acre of walks, lawns and a fine collection of Native American flora.

4. Margo Feiden Gallery

This 5-story landmark mansion is located in the very heart of Greenwich Village, just off 5th avenue. If you are looking for a unique and historic place to pop the questions, this museum would be everything you need. When you step inside you find yourself in the 1800’s New York City surrounding. Probably the most stunning part of this mansion is the ballroom with the huge archway window and unique chandelier. If you are looking for the Disney Cinderella vibes, this place is all you ever dreamed of.

5. Elevated park in FiDi

Who knew that there is a huge elevated park in the middle of the Financial District. The hidden park features lots of gardens and plans and has a huge picnic lawn. But the best feature of this park is the direct view of the East River. The park is open to the public 7 am – 10 pm, but it can also be rented out for private events. This place is ideal for a surprise picnic proposal or a candlelight evening proposal with secret photography.
