The most ” Instagramable” places for your engagement in New York

Vacation season is here and summer in New York is absolutely unique and one-of-a-kind experience. It’s absolutely another city life compared to the winter and colder months. For most of the couples, this is the first trip to the world-famous Big Apple and, of course, this is a perfect travel opportunity to pop the question.
As a NewYorkers, we have done marriage proposals and intimate wedding ceremonies almost all over the city and can recommend you the most “instagramable” spots for your dream engagement.

1. Brooklyn Bridge

This is the most recognizable bridge in the world. Opened on May 24, 1883 and operated ever since this bridge is open 24/7 and attracts tourists from all over the world. The best spot for pictures will be on the Brooklyn-side arch of the massive archways. This is the great spot for a panoramic photo, especially on sunset. Please, be aware that Brooklyn Bridge is a very popular place and if you want to have an intimate engagement you need to come early (7 am) or after sunset (11 pm).

2. Dumbo

The best view of the Brooklyn  Bridge, of course, will be from Dumbo. There is a lot of history in the cobblestone streets and the converted warehouse buildings of this ex-industrial area. Full of art galleries and artisanal coffee shops, this hip neighborhood is one of the most instagrammable places in NYC. Our most favorite spot for engagements will be: Behind the Carousel, The Pebble Beach,  The Plymouth street. Again, this area is very busy so its better to propose during the week and after the sunset.

3. Top Of The Rock

Best view of the city and the Empire State Building. There are three levels of observation decks to explore at Top of the Rock. The first deck includes the Radiance Wall and the gift shop. The second is entirely outdoors. The third observation deck, located on the 70th floor open-air roof deck, is completely outdoors and free of a glass enclosure, making it perfect for photos. This is perfect for the late afternoon surprise engagements and love story photo sessions.

4. The High Line Park

The best example of wild greenery and modern architecture. Open daily 7 am – 10pm. This park is perfect for modern day chic elopements and creative proposals. Also, as of March 2019,  there is a new attraction added to the High Line park – the Vessel. Best time to propose will be in the morning during the weekdays.

5.  Times Square

Times Square is not for shy couples. This is the busiest area in the city, but also the most diverse and photogenetic. Here you can propose on a Times Square Billboard or do a Flash Mob proposal in the middle of the square. Best time to propose will be after dark when all the signs and billboards are lightened up.

6. Flat Iron Building

Build in 1902, this was the first tall building in New York, with 22 floors up. Nowadays it is a national landmark and one of the most photographed buildings in the world. This is a perfect spot for an afternoon proposal. Also, Madison Square Park makes this spot is very appealing for proposals, as you can have pictures with both nature and the city.

7. Central Park

You know this place from the movies. Almost every film about NY includes this iconic location. Central Park is broad, diverse and photogenetic. Probably the most recognizable places will be the Great Lawn, The Bow Bridge, and the Gapstow Bridge. Central Park is one of our most favorite places for surprise engagements. If you planning to have a picnic or horse carriage ride, we can help you to organize an unforgettable day.

8. Gantry Plaza State Park

This park is truly a piece of art. Build in a modern style, the park has the best view of the Manhattan Skyline. The park is known for its Pepsi Cola Sign and the river boats. Perfect for a romantic proposal and love story photo sessions.

9. Metropolitan Museum Of Art

For art lovers, this will be heaven. Absolutely perfect for proposals and styled photo sessions. The museum is so diverse that none of your pictures will be the same. Also, during the summer, the Mets rooftop is hosting parties and roof exhibitions. Ideal place for a proposal and celebration toast after.

10. Private Rooftop

Best views of the city are always from the above. We love organizing surprise engagements on our private rooftops. Especially with the summer at its fullest, this is the best way to celebrate love. We love how intimate and private this is. You can choose your proposal place from our rooftops, that presented on the website. Or if you have your own spot, we would love to help with decorations.

We hope you will find this article useful and will choose the best spot for your proposal. But don’t forget, in order to make the picture ‘instagramable’ you need to have the right photographer. Our head photographer Vlad Leto is photographing couples from all over the world for over a decade. He is a reliable and professional photographer, who will make your pictures to stand out.
